Gloop

Gloop is probably the children’s activity I do most often with my friends. It’s fun and messy and you only need two ingredients! Corn flour and water! It’s a little addictive, running your fingers through the gloop, making forms that when you let go, runs through your fingers.

Ingredients

  • 1 large bowl
  • 2 cups corn starch
  • ½ - 1 cup water

Instructions

1

Allow your child to help measure the corn starch and pour into a bowl. Before adding the water to feel the texture of the corn starch.

2

Add the water slowly and allow the corn starch to absorb all the water, mix well (The gloop is the right consistency when it looks like liquid but when the child digs their hands through it, or makes a ball it becomes solid).

3

Give the bowl to your child and allow her to explore the texture of the gloop with her hands.

Notes

• I sometimes let my friends play with the gloop in the bath. Just remember to put the plug in! • Do not dispose of the gloop down the drain as it may clog the drains. • If you are worried about staining the grout between the tiles of your bath, do not add food colouring. • When gloop dries it can be swept of the floor with a broom or dusted of clothes.
