Hide and seek

We have all played this game! It’s one of my favourites! I have so many fun memories from playing hide and seek over the years, hiding behind sofas, in closets, behind curtains and under beds.

Start by deciding where you can hide.   Are there rooms that you are not allowed to go into? Like the living room? Kitchen?

Then you decide which child or adult will be the seeker (or it). He or she closes their eyes and counts to 100, while the other children hide. The seeker opens his or her eyes and goes and tries to find the children that have hidden. The first child that is found is the next seeker and the last child found is the winner of that round.

(At the moment I’m playing a baby version of this game. I say to my little friend, bye bye and then I run and hide. I make sure he can see where I’m going so he can find me easily. Its fun and simple and he loves it).

Notes:

In Denmark the seeker can ask the children that hide to say coco, if she can’t find them. That will give the seeker some indication where everyone is hiding.

If there are younger children hiding, make sure they go with an adult or one of the older kids. That’s the best way to learn how to play the game.

Here is another fun activity. Jumping in muddy puddles!
