Andy Warhol pop art for kids

I know I have said this before but I’ve been meaning to do Andy Warhol pop art for ages. I can’t and won’t post pictures of kids so I have coloured my own face. What a joy. The glass were in the way for me to draw eye shadow and my lipstick looks smudged. But it was fun!

This activity gives you an opportunity to teach your child about Andy Warhol and pop art. What inspired Mr. Warhol to create the art that he did? What is pop art? And before you panic here is a link you can click on from the Tate museum that explains it all. There is an educational video too. You are welcome.

Ingredients

  • Paper
  • Printer
  • Crayons, coloured pencils or markers

Instructions

1

In an app make a collage of your child's face. I used Instasize

2

Then print it from your phone or transfer it to your computer. If you don't know how to do that I would ask a young person to teach you or google it.

3

I would show your child pictures that Andy Warhol has made and then ask them to colour theirs.

I did tell a fib just now. I do have one picture of a child’s face on my blog. It’s from my epic bubble bath post. She is now a grown-up teenager.

You can check out the Instasize app here.
