I think your child will love this butterfly printing activity. You can squirt paint onto the sponge but I chose to paint it as I thought it would give me more control of the pattern I was making. If you choose to use that method remember to use lots and lots of paint.
Wrap the rubber band around the middle of the sponge. Pour the paint into the paint tray. Show your child how to paint one side of the sponge and then fold it together and press down so that the other side is the same. Press the sponge onto the paper. You can do more impressions depending on how big your sponge/paper is. Then paint the body and the antenna. Butterfly printing with sponges
