Handprint butterfly

I decided to make a butterfly handprint activity too. Aside from that have you noticed I’m making 3 of the same activity lately. What is that all about. This is a great activity to practice cutting with scissors.

I’ve just read that butterflies can’t fly if they are cold? Their body temperature has to be around 30C to fly. Did you know that?

Handprint butterfly

Ingredients

  • Paper (2 colours)
  • Scissors
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Glue stick

Instructions

1

Fold the paper in half and then put your child's hand on top and trace around it and cut out.

2

Cut out the body by folding over a piece of paper and cutting an oval and then a small circle and antenna.

3

Glue the body, head, and antenna onto the butterfly.

4

I glued on little circles to make my butterfly pretty but your child can paint it, draw on it, and blue gems on.

Notes

If your child has started using scissors then they can cut out their own handprint etc.

I did this rolling pin and bubble wrap printing activity not long ago. Did you see it?

I got the idea for this activity here.
