Easter chick

Easter is not complete without a pretty Easter chick. My friend and I made this one yesterday. I think his turned out a lot better than mine.

I’m thinking about my mum at just now. She always used to decorate at Easter, which I’m sure not many people do? What do you think? Anyway, I think it’s a lovely tradition.

Ingredients

  • Paper plate
  • Yellow paint
  • Paint brush
  • Glue
  • Orange paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Yellow feathers
  • Stapler

Instructions

1

You start of by having your child paint the paper plate.

2

For younger children I would cut out the beak and feet, but you can let older children cut it out (the beak is just a square folded in half, and the feet is affectively just a W. I’m just pointing that out because I don’t have a template).

3

When the plate is dry, I spread glue all over it and then let my friend put the eyes, feather and beak onto the plate. Older children can spread glue onto the eyes and beak and glue it themselves but I chose to put glue all over the plate so my little friend could just stick everything down without messing with the glue. If you don’t have googly eyes, then make yes with white and black paper.

4

And finally, I stapled the feet onto the bottom. You can also glue them.
