This is an art project and fine motor skills activity rolled into one. I think my little friend liked to play with his box because he had a hand in making it. I hope the same goes for your child. I varnished the box with mud podge to protect it.
Your child can paint the box beforehand. I think it looks so much better when it has art on it. Carefully pierce holes on top of the box. Then show your child how to stick the matchstick into the small holes in the cardboard box. cardboard box and matchsticks
